Hi,
I wonde if anyone can help me, i have a fustrating problem. I've got a cheap 128mb MP3 player. I plugged it in (USB) and crammed it full of music tracks, about 26. Anyway, happily i plugged in the headphones and listened to them. To my fustration only about half of them play, and i don't know why. They're all WMA format. Can any give me some advice please...?
Thanks
Are some of them bought off those pay per downloads sites taht chage you 99 cents per song? If so, those won't play on devices like that, generally speaking. That, or jsut stay away from the evil .wma and go .mp3.
I'd take the latter advice there and just switch everything to mp3. I hate anything other than mp3 or wav. Same with videos, I'll only take file types that play in winamp, no mov or wmv or anything like that.
I couldn't agree more, stay away from wma! because it's not universal like mp3 format is, and you can only play .wma files in windows, but .mp3 can be played in mack or linux as well!
i've problems as well in playing mp3. i'm using win m but it doesn't work that well. can anyone tell me how to fountion win-m with jaws? when i use win-m program it does not speek. i usually use window media player to play mp3, but reasonly i find out that it will slow down my whole pc system. can anyone help me in this? thanks. i appriciate a lot.
Do you mean Winamp? It should speak just fine. What do you mean by Jaws doesn't speak?
yes, i'm talking about winamp. when i open this problem it chresh with jaws. and it hang as well. how can i fountion it well? thanks.
You might wanna make sure you're using the clasic skins, otherwise you'll have problems.
Thanks everyone, but the player supports WMA. Anyway, i'll try to convert the files.. how do i do that? can i use Media player or Realplayer to do convert the files?
Cheers
thanks a lot. at least i know what problem that i am facing now. can anyone tell me more about the clasic skin? thanks.
WMA's are evil but if you insist I think you can search online for converters.
BTW newer versions of Winamp play almost any movies except Quicktime and Real files, it's nice.
thanks every one for giving me suggesstions and ideas on winamp. i've already downloaded the latest version of winamp. is cool. cheers.
WMA is most certainly not "the win." Switch to mp3 or better yet, OGG vorbis since it sounds better (IMO) and it doesn't have any pattents/licenses or whatnot. (By the way when converting between lossy formats such as MP3-OGG, WMA-MP# or whatever combination, you might loose some quality in the song since the lossy data converted from the wma in your case is being cut further when converting to MP3; think of it as cutting pieces away from a piece of paper to make it smaller and then cutting more off so you have much less than you had originally... pardon if this is long and rambling/noncomprehendable)
